This is a kind of audacious project I have of creating a brand new country - in this case, kingdom in modern ages.
The place is called Orthan. I firstly used this as a suggestion for a game, and the name's suggested name was "Pokémon Nightmare".
Orthan is still ruled by monarchy - the newest prince is going to be elected, mind you.
It lies due to the west in a bay, bathed by the Animor Sea with various beaches and two ports. This is supposedly the capital for Pokémon Tournaments in the world, since thousands of trainers travel to this region by sea just to enter its unusually big league - It counts seven Gyms, but not jus that and the Elite Four, it also counts wth Tournaments all around the place.
This region has problems with Team Darkness, though, led by Ardos, former Cipher Admin.
Litindle
A tranquile town to the northwest, this is where the adventure starts. Prof. Cal lives here and makes researches on Pokémon. The Gym Leader here is Gary - yes, Gary Oak from Kanto - and possesses the Gold Badge with Psychic Pokémon.
This is also where the first registered strike from Team Darkness occurred.
And from Litindle, we enter Route 231 that connects the town to the Middlin Forest:
Middlin Forest
A massive grove which sevres as a cross between Routes 231, 232 and 233.
Its usually used to camp due to the tree's thickness, but although this offers an advantage, it also brings disadvantages, since this is a very dark place with barely any light. Great wild Pokémon can be caught here.
Here occur the tournaments for the Cub Cup, an optional cup to enter the Pokémon League. It is held in the Plain Colosseum, located, as its names implies, over a plain.
And from here to Route 232, heading to Caitla Port.
Caitla Port
A port north of the bay. S.S. Quest stops here every Saturday and Wednesday. This city holds a big lighthouse, mostly guiding boats in foggy or stormy days.
The Gym Leader is Jack, with the Pearl Badge and Fire Pokémon.
Petit Cup, a necessary cup for the Pokémon League, at the Lighthouse Colosseum, is held here, too.
The "capital" of the kingdom is divided in various parts, being inside a crater, four parts. It as a whole is the Great Castle.
The Pokémon Temple (North)
Nobody to date knows who built this temple besides its purpose: to honor the legendary Mew. It was used previously as a sacrificial place, but now holds the Royal Family. A dungeon spreads across the temple, although nobody as ever passed through the Rooftop Colosseum, at the Temple's top, where the Super Cup tournaments are held. Super Cup is optional to the Pokémon League.
The Sacred Sword of Sacrifices is hidden somehwere inside this temple.
Central Castle (Center)
The central part of the entire castle of Orthan. The Gym lead by Chris - Chris from Crystal Version - which earns the Ruby Badge with Electric Type Pokémon.
A fountain in the middle of this part of the castle with a Pokéball hologram over it is the main attraction and a spectacular nocturne scenario. From all of the Great Castle, this is the only landing spot for flying Pokémon.
West Castle
West part of the castle. A large plaza can be found in the middle of this part, where the Princess's Tower, surrounded by luxury gardens, rises. This tower is said to hod a secret. Most of this area is made of houses.
East Castle
Many of the gamble places are found in his part of the castle, many of which illegal and nocturnal. Many criminal organizations have been spotted around this area, actually making it a popular atracttion.
South Castle
Known as the Commercial Street, many of the Great Castle's shops are here, from old to modern. The first actually gather more clients, but are a real pain for those who live here when its around 5 in the morning.
Camari
A city in the desert, known for its abundant Riders and Chasers, the most competitive classes in the FormulaDesert competition, a race in the desert which’s winner is earned money. Whilhelm is the Gym Leader here, with the Sapphire Badge and essentially Rock and Ground Pokémon.
Mt. Pinnacle
A mountain in the middle of the bay known as “Where Trainers Aim”, due to its 100th trainer challenge with a prize Pokémon.
Mega Factory: Time Co.
A factory of Mega Pokémon inside Spiritual Mountain. Team Darkness’s lair, in other words. The structure holds the apparent aspect of a normal business building, but it holds a restricted area. This is where Ardos and Natro – the sub-president – have their office.
Shadow Mansion
Just on top of Mt. Caster, this mansion’s owner is said to be the same person who planned and built Sustectis. The owner also seems to have some sort of family relation to Ardos.
Patronerie
A village holding the annual Pokémon Experts Conference, which lasts a week. Most of its habitants are expert trainers. It’s also known for the number of Trainer Schools around here. It’s also the last stop before Route 240, which leads to the Golden Forest. Here are also held the Poké Cup, necessary tournaments for the Pokémon League, in the Patronus Colosseum, a huge stage built to honor the patron of this town.
Pokémon Research Labs
Labs just down Route 239, known for the number of items and discoveries made here. Prof. Cal studied here in order to be a Pokémon Experts Foundation Executive. The Virtual Magnet, used to recover Mega Pokémon through Magnetism, was made here. Also, the Time Capsule, which allows to travel in time, and although being a Johto invention, is also used in these laboratories.
Craterna Desert
A desolate land south of the Region. It holds most of Orthan’s crater, and also holds the FormulaDesert races. It contains an abandoned hangar and a Ghost Village.
Sacred Mt.
Known as such for having the Great Castle at its top, this mountain is, inside, a cemetery. Magmatic chambers open on Sitia Port’s plaza. Adding up to the graveyards, Mr. Fuji, from Kanto, also leads a Pokémon Tower inside this mountain due to the destruction of the first one in Lavender.
Sitia Port
A small port south of Caitla. It’s known for the abundance of the most relaxed class of trainers, the Casual Dudes. The cruiser S.S. Quest stops here every Sunday and Friday. Like any port, it has a signature lighthouse. The Gym Leader in this town, and usually absent Gym Leader, is Agatha, from Indigo Plateau, with the obvious Ghost Type Pokémon. Defeating her earns the Trainer the Emerald Badge.
Magmatic chambers from the Sacred Mountain open in the main plaza, giving the port the reputation of having thermal waters.
Spiritual Mountain
The only entrance into this mountain is through the Craterna Desert. Alpinism is practiced here very often, partly due to the spiritual journeys to the top, although the latest have decreased their frequency after the installation of Time Co. This place is also been said to be cursed.
Sustectis
A huge, flying fortress sphere at the bay’s end, able to contend 200 Pokémon inside it. Team Shadow is often depicted to rule this sphere.
Rhyan's Resort
A fantastic hotel located in Paradise Beach, the best bathing place in Orthan. The owner is a man named Rhyan, from Letrona. The price isn’t very high, and the comfort exceeds the best. It’s on top of a large rock, so the clients can look down, at the sea. The Pokémon Quiz Games (I’ll mention more about them later) are held here.
Ghost Village
An abandoned city in Craterna. Dark and Ghost Type Pokémon roam these streets, making it a rather dangerous location. However, it’s a very interesting place to study other kinds of Pokémon during the day. Ancient Mines surround the city, and Team Darkness was seen entering these ruins.
Letrona
A large city on top of a rocky coast, it’s great to observe the sunset and the tranquil, calm sea. Sailors often stop by. Pokémon Quiz Contests are held here as well, near the Pokémon Charity Company.
Darkness Hole
A giant hole inside the Orthan Victory Road’s mountain. It’s dark around the clock, although lights have started to emerge in the blackness. The only entrance into this hole is through the Victory Road’s interior.
Golden Forest
The Golden Forest, according to the legend, is said to shine each time someone reaches the Champion status in the Pokémon League. All kinds of Pokémon can be seen around. There are only two ways into the forest, which is through Route 240 or Victory Road. This forest surrounds Cintilia’s mountain.
Cintilia
The official league of Orthan, or Mega League, is located here. Cintilia is right on top of Victory Road, and holds many famous people, with a special reference to the aspirant to President of Orthan. This town is known for its luxurious restaurants and illuminated – and populous – streets.
The tournaments for the Premier Cup, a necessary cup for the Pokémon League, is held here, in Central Plaza Colosseum.
Dictania
A very large city where Pokémon Quiz Contests are held. Many people make their choice to live here due to the houses’ low price. The Gym Leader here is Medli, who holds the Crystal Badge and Flying Type Pokémon.
Mt. Caster
Just on top of this mountain is the Shadow Mansion. There is no way into this mountain.
Route 234
A route that deserves a special reference, due to the fact of actually being a bridge. Its very used by trainers who got their driving license early. During the night, the bridge is closed and fireworks are sent up.
