“At last… the Gateway Island Championships…” Rover whispered to Nidorina, who followed him all the way down to the entrance of the Dock. “Get ready. This will get fierce around here.”
“Nido.” She replied, nodding. She wasn’t smiling, she actually had stern look upon her.
“Ok then…” Rover breathed in deeply and arranged his jacket. “…let’s go in.”
The door in front of him opened, allowing the loud noises of the busy people all around the Dock, walking from one place to the other, waiting for their ship to depart or to arrive. It was actually a huge building, but there was a stripe on the ground, just in front of a very large dock, where an even larger ship was getting in.
The stripe was free, and nobody was allowed to enter that area.
A balcony on the other end of the stripe is where Rover stopped, looking down at the travelers with much amaze. It had grown in the last few years.
“David. At last.” He sighed, momentarily losing his pose.
"We are entering the Dock. Please go to your rooms and gather your Pokémon. Do not worry about your belongings, they will be given back once the Championships are over." The butler finished. "About time." He muttered between his teeth.
"Ah, Max, sir. We will need your bag still. Here is your Medium Bag you requested and the Gateway Pass. You have 30 Pass Points in it. It is empty, as you might expect." The other butler said, taking Max's bag away. "Do not worry, it is in good hands!"
By now, the butler was already gone from sight.

Max sighed as he looked around, clutching the bag around his shoulder. Flame stood next to him diligently, eyes weary as he looked castiously around. They were just lucky that Chatter, the Chatot, had came before the boat arrived. The Pokemon now sat on his shoulder, humming a few bars as it looked at all the trainers passing by or just standing around. Max sighed, wondering when and where the battles were going to start. Diligently, Max stepped forward, getting a better look at the place.
James followed quietly with Rover, looking almost amazed himself as he saw all of the people walking around as he stepped out into light, then to a balcony. Umbreon gave a call as she examined all of the Pokemon around the area, though no one seemed to notice her. Her ears twitched, though, with excitment. James smirked as he exmined the face, though he seemed to almost ignore all of the talking Rover had did on the way. He smirked at that. He was actualy ignoring someone on accident.
"Amazing," he said aloud, almost sub-consiouly.

Finally they had arrived, having pulled into the dock just moments before. With Dustin every watchful by his side, he had made his way to the disembarking platform in the first class area. He was quite happy that he did not need to get off the ship with all the people he was going to defeat. As he walked down off the ship, he looked around at the busy and he smirked. "This should be some nice training," he said, Dustin nodded in agreement. He turned to the Lucario. "How about you go back in your ball," he said to him. Dustin looked at him and shook his head, disagreeing with what he wanted. This was a new place, Dustin was going to stand by his trainer to make sure nothing happened to him. Johna shook his head but then agreed with this and started to walk.
-----------------------------
Soring above the boat, a Fearow was circling around the ship. He had been following the ship since it had gotten into view of the island. This was Crain, he had been sent off by Andy to follow the ship and film it as it got into the dock. Before it had gotten there, she and her pokemon had set up a few cameras around the docks to capture the trainers entering into the island. Something that would be a good beginning to a movie. As for Andy herself, she was standing with Bailie and Zigzag, the Blazekin was holding a camera and the Elekid was watching a portable battery monitor to make sure all of the cameras were juiced up. Andy was on the floor of the dock, ready to pull aside any trainers who caught her interest to interview. At the moment, she was not going to interview all of them, that would take too long but she would do a few. She was not use to interviewing but she could do it if need be. Her eyes caught sight of the trainers and she was ready for them.

Rover coughed twice and picked up and placed the small headset before speaking out, loud and clear:
"Welcome to all Trainers from the Kanto Region! Welcome to the Gateway Islands!" Silence was made all around the dock, and everyone turned its look up to the administrator. "I am Rover Lawride, head manager of the Gateway Island and organizer of the Championships of which you certainly heard and decided to participate in! You have been equipped properly: your bag and Pass will be your only keys in this Island, although we do have other entertainment areas, as well as an arena on eveyr corner of the island for the most impacient trainers! You can even earn PP in these battles, which will still be called Quick Battles. They are not illegal, obviously."
Rover quieted for a moment, never letting go his stern look.
He then turned down, to Nidorina.
"I forgot what I was going to say..." He admited in a low voice.
The Nidorina sighed and showed a small piece of paper she had between her teeth. Rover carefuly took it and read it. After he got up, some two seconds had passed.
"Ahem... As I was saying... I am sure you were indignated with the fact you lost all of your items. Word came to me that some didn't want to let go of their bags. I understand. But there is something else. That PP you can collect in your cards will be used to buy items in the island. Potions and other useful items, obviously. Some of the shops might have some very rare items. It takes exploration, and sense of opportunity. You already know that you can collect PP through battles, too."
He walked from the left to the right and then went back to his position. Silence still remained.
"Also, you probably remember the bags. Well, I will personally sell bigger bags - although there are only three levels, the ones you know - in the Hexagon Building. In case you need any, you just come to me. Something I should add... there are no Pokéballs for sale in Gateway Island. None. You don't need them."
Rover walkedback and pushed James forward.
"Now, I would like to introduce you all to some of our assistants. Meet Dr. James McAllen. He will be helping you before battles by providing you the Pokémon you need for our special battles, and others. You will see. James McAllen!"
Rover clapped as he stepped back, along with many in the crowd.

James felt nervous as he stepped forward. Though it almost washed away instantly. Umbreon of course followed, her ears purked as he examined all the people and Pokemon down below. James chuckled lightly.
"Well, I hope to see great battles here," he said aloud. Weirdly, his voice seemed booming enough to be hear in the quietness. "I hope everyone here will put up a great fight!" James stepped back, nodding to Rover with a short smirk.
Max kept quiet as the two men talked. Chatot seemed to try and listen too, though he seemed to want to hum more than he did listen. Flame had other ideas, eyeing a girl with two Pokemon and a camera near by. He didn't seem to trust them much.

"Okay then, this was your current expert! You've seen many! This time, James debuts in Gateway!" Rover shouted out, assuming his spot again. "And another person to introduce is our camera woman, Andy! She will be interviewing and recording battles throughout the Championships, so do good performances for the record! Introducing Andy... huh... something!"

Andy noticed that all eyes had turned to her. It was sort of obvious that she was Andy because of the camera. She was not one to really take the stage and she smiled innocently and waved. "Um.. high everyone..." she said hesitently before glaring a little up at Rover. She looked back at the people. "Well, I have a good time and... uh... put on a good show," she laughed a bit, innocently, rubbing the back of her head. Bailie shook her head as Zigzag waved at all of the people.
-------------------------
Johna looked over at her. "We'll need to avoid her, Dustin," he commented to him. The Lucario nodded and they changed their positions, so they could move past her quickly when this was over.

"Well then, don't let her catch you!" Rover laughed, assuming his position again. "Veyr well, this is my last word now. I will meet you all again tonight in the introducion ceremony. It will definitely be interesting. As to where you are staying... you will stay in the Crystalline Silver. Our luxurious hotel has prepared some rooms for all trainers, but there is one thing. You will have to go in pairs. The entire hotel is full, so I'm sorry, but it will have to be this way. The tournament organization will be presented tonight, along with the first battle, which will be tomorrow."
Rover was expecting many reclamations, but he stood firm.
"I will have to leave for now. The butler will lead you to the hotel. Enjoy your stay!"

Johna eyes widened. Pairs? He would have to share a room with someone else? That was not acceptable. He narrowed his eyes and looked over at Dustin. "Do you think we have a choice?" he asked. The Lucario looked up at the head of the tornament and then back at Johna, shaking his head. "I didn't think so," he lowered his head and thought. "This will be a minor annoyence but I guess I can't do anything about it," he narrowed his eyes a little more but then straightened up. "Another challenge to over come," he said quietly.

James chuckled lightly as he stood there for a moment, watching the crowd finally take words to each other. He smirked at each of their reactions to everything Rover had said. Then again, some of these things were kind of good for everyone. He just hoped no one would try and steal his Pokemon while he was asleep. Leaving Rex out would help a little, but probably not by much. The small Shiny Groulithe was powerful, but not a likley foe to not be reconed with. James only shook his head before turning, wanting to leave and visit with the trainers down below.
"Hope you don't mind me going to greet the trainers," he said to Rover quickly. But he didn't give the man time to answer. He was already half way down the hall they had came from, his Shiny Umbreon close behind. And it didn't take long before he found the exit, drifting onto the docks casually.
Max sighed. Did he really have to stay with another person? He was hoping to have a room all to his self, where he could let out all of his Pokemon to run around in the room. He flopped down a bit angrily, Chatter Box squaquking and giving calls as he was rudely moved from his position. Angrily, he went to the oppisite shoulder, as if that would help anything. Flame blew a slight puff of smoke, showing he was a bit tired and wanted to get away from this crowd. He seemed more annoyed than Chatter did. He was still staring - or glaring - at the girl with the equitment, along with the Blaziken and small electric type Pokemon. Did he have a grudge or what?
Oh great. Just what he needed. More humans gathered around here. He hadn't gotten here less than a few hours ago, and now more humans had showed up to participate in this "Championship" or what ever the man on the loud speaker said. He really didn't care. He was just lucky the humans couldn't carry Pokeballs. Slowly he shifted, pushing him self away from the corner he was hiding behind and practicaly sticking the the wall he was walking by. He could see many different types of Pokemon, but mainly the ones that were near by, such as another Blaziken and a Lucario. They could probably sense him from here, but he didn't care. He could probably beat all of 'em up if he wanted to. Yeah, sure, Blaze knew he was strong. Maybe not take all of them on at once, yeah. But he could try, right?
He ignored the thought, though, trying to figure out where the humans were staying. Best he could do, though, was lean against the wall, amoungst shadows with his arms crossed as he waited. They would all be leaving soon together, he knew that much. He sighed, waitint diligently for the humans to go on so he could follow. And steal a thing or two.[/size]

"I guess so." Rover sighed, watching as James was already gone by the time he heard him speak.
Turning around very slowly, he started walking out of the Dock.
"Come on, Nidorina. Gotta fix you up for tonight." He whispered. Her sense of hearing allowed her to listen, though, and she followed him, somewhat annoyed.
Both left the Dock, headed for the Hexagon Building, from where they would only leave later night.
"Could that have been my uncle...?" David said to himself. He had already collected his Pokémon from his room, and all he needed now was to go with the butler. "Hey, aren't you coming?" He asked to the others in the ship.

Shadix walked up to David with a smile on her face with C.V. not to far behind. She had all her things gathered together and was ready to get off the boat.
"Yup!" Shadix said with a grin. "I'm ready to expore around this place." She truned to her Typhlosion. "You ready for this?" she asked him.
"Ty!" C.V. roared and stomped on the ground. It shook the boat so hard Shadix fell of her feet.
"... Lets try not to be too excited..." She said to her pokemon, sweat dropping a bit.

Johna walked into the crowd with the other trainers. He was hoping that doing so would make him blend in with the other people so that he would not be picked out by that blasted camera girl. Dustin and him walked straight, making no eye contact, until his eyes fell on a girl and a Typhlosion. For some reason, that girl looked familier, what could be the reason for that. He had never met her before but it was really bothering him. It felt like it had something to do with his brother. "I have found my main target," Johna said to Dustin, motioning only slightly over to the girl. Dustin looked at her and then nodded but they did nothing else.
-------------------
Andy noticed that the people were speeding up as they headed in her direction. She was not excited that Rover had introduced her like that, she much prefered remaining anonomous. Now, people were going to avoid her. She knew how people were when it came to cameras, that's why she prefered pokemon, they were more interesting. Bailie sighed as she held the camera but soon she straightened. Her senses were telling her that there was a foe around, another Blazekin. She remained stiff and watchful, but tried to make it look like she was not on alert.
Andy got to thinking. "Maybe we're not going to interview people today. They did just get in, maybe tonight after they have gotten accomidated," she told Bailie and Zigzag. She noticed that Crain had landed in a tree outside, the camera angled so that it could view that trainers heading away from the docks. Very good Crain she thought. He was getting better at this.

Willard sighed. He was late getting out because he lost one of his pokeballs. But he decieded to just get over it and earn a reputation with the people, you know, make a name for himself. After all, that's what Archie trained him to do his whole life. He approached a person with a camera, and shot out his hand. "The name's Willard, nice to meet you." He noticed a moment afterwards nobody else was really greeting her.

Andy nearly fell over at the suddenness of this person coming over to her. If it had not been for the fact that Bailie was right behind her, she would have fallen over. After getting back on her feet, she looked at him. "Oh, uh, hi Willard, nice to meet you," she said, taking his hand. "I'm Andy," she was still taking the time to slow her heart. "Um, would you mind if I interviewed you?" she asked.
