Okay, so I've written a book before. Of course, the Max in here is way diffrent from the Max I Role Play with, so please don't get them confused in any way. Well, I hope you enjoy this crappy book I made. Below is the pracitcal plot of the story, so I suggest reading it before you do the acual story. Thanks!
Story Plot:
They said it wasn't true. They said Ho - Oh living somewhere near the town of St. Lawrence was just a Myth. But in the linage of things, when Team Rocket came and destroyed half of my town, taking all hostage who seemed to know more about the so called "Legend," as well as taking those who didn't. They captured everyone, including my parents, and now I seem to be the last hope for saving all humanity - and my parents. This letter goes out to who all who are still alive, those close to me who are wondering where I may be. Now there's one thing and one thing only that I have to accomplish: find Ho Oh and save my parents. Before it's too late, that is.
With Last Regards,
Maximum.

Chapter 1: The Journey Begins
My alarm began buzzing off. I rolled over and groaned, slamming my hand on the snooze button. It was 8:00 in the morning, and I still didn't want to wake up from my great dream. It was about Pokemon, and I was the greatest trainer ever. But there's just one malfunction to that dream: I am afraid of any and ALL Pokemon that I've never met.
"Max, time to get up, son!" my dad yelled from down stairs."Come on, I promised to take you to the Gym today!"
"Gym?" My eyes immediately snapped open from their closed position. "Coming!" I shouted, and imedently flung out of my bed, almost tripping on the confuter that was still clutching to my feet.
I quickly went to my closet, getting out my usual blue jeans on to put on. I heard thumping on the stairs and looked over. Pixie, the female Ninetails of the family even though she thinks she's mine, peaked her had in the doorway. I couldn't help but smile at her as she growled slightly, probably telling me to hurry it up so we could leave already.
"Just a minute, Pixie!" I said, slipping on my black shirt quickly. "I'm almost ready! Just give me a minute!" The Ninetails growled, retracting her head into the room that lyes out-side my room to probably wait.
I found Pixie when I was just four years old, while I was out playing out in the woods with my father's Mightyena. She was a Vulpix then, and she had a wounded foot, and was also contracted with a virus. Since my parent's wouldn't let me take a wild Pokemon into their house, Might and I took her to Elm's in the neighboring town. He said that she might have been abandoned by her mother because she was lame, and didn't seem to be able to make it. After the call home, my parents both agreed that I could bring her home after Elm had checked her throughly. Although, he said that if I took her home, she couldn't be released into the wild, but if she were to stay at Elm's, he could easily return her to the wild after a while. I choose the first choice of course. But a while after that, at the age of five, a tragic thing happened: I got caught in Torus stampede. I didn't terribly hurt or anything, but after that, I did have a fear of Pokemon I didn't know. But, I did find one cool thing on that day after the stampede: a Fire Stone. And with Pixie's permission, I evolved her. My father then began training her, just in case I changed my mind about Pokemon. But of course, I didn't.
"You almost ready, son?" my dad yelled up at me."We haven't got all day! I've got trainers to battle! Huryy or I'm leavin' without you!"
"Yeah dad, I'ma coming'!" I shouted back, quickly knotting my shoe-laces. I quickly jogged to the stairs because Pixie had already disappeared. My feet pounded the stair well, and I took a leap from the last step to the ground floor, smack dab in the kitchen.
"Well, if it isn't the birthday boy!" my mom's voice came from the stove. The smell of a baking cake filled the room, which made me pause for a moment.
"Mom!" I finally went, stretching my arms before dropping them again. But my mom just laughed at me, as usual.
"What?" she asked, flipping another pancake on the stove. "I can't celebrate my son's tenth birthday?"
"Depends on how you celebrate it," my dad laughed.
And frankly, they didn't notice me inching towards the door as they spoke. I wanted to to go and run around outside right now, like I always did. Mightyena, my dad's Pokemon, and Star, my mother's Persian and old show companion, watched me wearily as I drew closer. And of course, Pixie stood at the door, muzzled faced up wards as she waited for me. And I was just about to put my hand on the door...
"And where do you think your going?" my mom asked, not even looking away from the stove. I flinched back, chuckling. I swear, she has eyes in the back of her head.
"Honey, stop scaring the boy," my dad said, leaning back in his chair. "He was only going out to play, now weren't you, son?" His gaze was now on me, and I gulped and nodded.
"Well, okay, I guess," mom said, giving a sigh as she flipped a pancake. "Boys will be boys."
"Yes!" I said, swinging the door open. "Thanks, mom! Thanks dad!" But by then I was already speeding down the path toward the woods, Pixie and Mightyena close behind me.
***** Leaves went crunching under my feet as I ran through the forest, Pixie and Might close behind. Frankly, my dad sent him to help watch me, which sometime I don't mind. But I just wish that they wouldn't treat me like a kid all of the time. I gave a grunt as I took a leap over the brook, from one giant rock to another. Mightyena and Pixie easily jumped over, being used to these conditions. Star, on the other hand, loved being an inside Pokemon. I stopped ang squatted, panting a bit from all of the running I had just done. Might turned around and jogged a few yards back to the stream, dipping his head to drink. Pixie, on the other hand, came next to me, lying down to pant the running off. "Hey, girl," I said to her, patting her head. A sudden growl made me whip around. Might had his ears back, growling at the path, back at St. Lawrence. "What's it boy?" I asked, standing fully and turning toward him, confusion written all over my face. "What's wro-?" A big bang! cut off my sentence, along with explosions, screams, and smoke bursting in the air wildly into the air. Right where my home was. Might gave a loud howl and leaped straight from his spot, over the broke and back toward the town. I took off running after him, calling him back. What was going on? Pixie ran beside me, and I could tell by a sudden glance that she was tense. "Might!" I hollered again, my face red and my supply weaking with every step I took. But it was too late. Might had already scattered out of the woods and toward home. I scattered out behind Pixie, but what I saw made me want to run back to the woods, to safety. Pokemon were being captured. People were being taken away. Men wearing black with red Rs on them were all doing this, being cruel. "Mom! Dad!" I scattered forward, toward home. Pixie growled and ran after me, but my focus was on getting home. I swear I ran forever until I got to the house, but by then, my eyes were flooding with tears. They were dragging my mom out, and Star was trying to save her, but only got beat back every time by a Houndoom spitting flames. My dad had Mightyena and was battling a Nidoking, but Might was getting beaten badly, getting launched towards the ground with every blow the Posion-Type threw from his mighty claws. "Mom! Dad!" my voice came out hoarsely and dryly. My dad spun around, his face in shock. "Max!" he hollered. "Get back! Run! Now!" I stopped in my tracks with a skid, but was too late to turn around and run. A Houndoom came behind me, and another in front, both growling and snarling. I began to panic a bit. As I said before, I was utterly afraid of any and ALL Pokemon I didn't know. "Pixie!" I hollered to the Pokemon, where ever she was. I was in pure panic. "Help me!" A blurb to gold flashed behind me, and when I whipped around, Pixie had tackled one of the Houndoom, and was in a tooth and fang fight with it. My head turned to the other Houndoom, who was inching toward me. "Get the boy!" someone hollered an order. A couple of men lurched forward, which made me turn high tail and flee. "Pixie!" I hollered for the Pokemon to follow me this time, but as I looked back, I could she that she was in a plummet. "No!" I stopped and turned, but only to turned and run again from two other men. I ran blindly into the woods, over the brook, and wouldn't stop. My legs seemed to lead to out of harm, but what about my family? What about Pixie, Mightyena, and Star? My life was over as I knew it, running until I blacked out, not remembering if I heard foot-steps behind me or not. CHAPTER OVER. [/blockquote]

Chapter Two: Making New Friends I ran. I ran for what seemed like forever. I all remember was darkness reining over me. I didn't rembmer if I fell asleep under a rock or a tree. My head hurt too bad. Well, I didn't remember. I didn't until, that is, I awoke in dim sunlight, under a tree. Dew was all over the ground, and all over me as well, frankly. My eyes barly hade blinked open when I heard noises. They were faint, but there. The more I was able to come into concesnouis, the more louder they grew. Finally, figures began bluraly into veiw, and sounds came instantly into the ears, making me think I wasn't alone, where ever I was.
"Bulbasaur. Bulaba!"
"Chika!"
"Torchic, tor!"
My eyes flashed open, seeing clearly now. Infront of me where three Pokemon that would count as begginers for any of the three regions: a Bulbasaur, Chirkarita and Torchic.
"Ahh!" I flew my self around the tree, now behind it. The Torchic made a yelp, and scrabbled back, falling over because of it's stumbly legs. I slowly peeked out from behind the tree, my heart pounding. The Chikarita was eyeing the Torchic, of whom was trying to get to it's feet. The Bulbasaur was looking at me confusingly. It probably never saw a human run away from it rather than capture.
"Bulba?" it said, and took a couple of steps towards me.
"Stop, please!" I scattered back even more, but the Bulbasaur repectfully stopped.
"Your not gonna hurt me, are you?" I asked it, which was a stupied question probably because to him, I could kick him all the way to the moon and back if I wanted to.
"Bulbasaur," it said. Then suddenly, it seemed to get an idea. It turned to it's comanions, of which were in a struggle. The Chikarita was pushing on the Torchic's back, trying to help it up. With one last faitfull puch, Torchic got to it's feet. "Bulba!" said the grass type, which made both of the other Pokemon look to him. "Bulbasaur! Bulba, bulbasaur!"
"Chika!" said the other grass type. I'm guess that it's girl, by the sound of it.
"Bulba," nodded Bulbasaur. It then looked towards the fire type, who appeared to be looking up at the clouds. I couldn't help but look up as well.
Stars still filled the sky a bit, but it was only half of the sky. The other half was filled with light. I sighed, for I couldn't help but remember about yesterday. About what happend to my parents and my friends. And my life. How was I going to live the rest of my life? Were those strange going to come after me and capture me as well? Or would I die out here in these woods, alone and frightend like some outcast?
"Bulba!" Bulbasaur's voice made me jumo back to reality. I looked down to the small grass type. "Bulbasaur!" He pointed one of his vines to a small road. Did I run all the way through the forest when I was escaping? I knew I would surly remember it if I did.
"Uh, are we going somewhere?" I asked him, knowing that's probably what he meant. This Pokemon seemed pretty nice, and I was pretty hungry, too.
The Pokemon nodded. I heard footsteps, and looked up to see Torchic and Chikarita running back from the woods. Chickarita hade an oran berry in her two vines, and Torchic had one in it's beak. Bulbasaur nodded and smiled, thanking Chikarita for the oran berry. He than turned to me, and held the berry up to me.
"Bulbasaur," it said, gesturing me to take it.
"Oh, no thank you," I said, holding up both hands, gesturing that I didn't want it. "I don't want to take your food. I can probably find some of my own when I got to the next town."
"Bulbasaur," he said, gesturing it again. "Bulba, bulbasaur!" It seemed he really wanted me to have it. I sighed, I gently took it from him.
"Thanks," I said slowly to him, and took a bit off the berry. The Bulbasaur smiled and turned towards the Chikarita, splitting her oran berry. Torchic ate his berry under the tree as he watched the others, which made me feel a bit sorry for him. But hey. At least he didn't live my life, right?
After I finished my "meal," I stood right up, brushing myself off of the grass and dirt. The sun was now peaking over the horizon slowly, as if terrifyed that something might happen to it if it came over too quickly.
"Well, thank for the meal, guys," I said, turning to the road. "But I have to get going. Hopfully, I won't get captured by the end of the day." That last part was supposed to be a joke. Suddenly, Bulbasaur came bursting in front of me, making me stop in my tracks.
"Bulba!" he said to me. "Bulbasaur!"
"I'm sorry, but I have to go," I said calmly, and began walking around him, only to be stopped again.
"Bulbasaur!" he said again, only this time a bit more strictor than the last time. Jeese, he really didn't want me to go, did he? I sighed, dropping my head.
"Fine," I said. "I'll stay for a little while longer."
******
After a while, the sun rose into mid afternoon. I was beggining to worry about my town, and most importanly, my family. I wondered if anyone had actualy survived the raid. I told my self that there had to be survivors, but yet, part of me belived that there weren't. Finally, I worked up some courage to face the Pokemon that seemed to be speeching about stuff under a tree near the woods. That is, all expet for the Torchic, of whom sat off the the side, watching his friends with sad eyes. Poor thing. He must be the outcast of the three. He seems to be the only fire-type.
"Uh, hey Bulbasaur," I asked the smarter one of the bunch, of whom paused his conversation with the Chikarita to look at me. "Uh, while I was asleep, where there any men that may have passed by? You know, in full black expet for a red "R" on their chest?" There seemed to be a pause before sadly, he shook his head. I gave a sigh, falling back onto my rear. "Dang. And they migth have my fam-"
And that's I heard it. Torchic let out a loud, almost squeal, call. When I turned to him, he was standing up, facing the path that I would take to get home. My head turned instantly, as did Bulbasaur and Chikirita's, and what I saw made me want to bawl. Where my town would be placed, black smoke came pouring up, showing that all was lost, all was gone. I gulped, practicaly shaking as I watched. Was the whole town destryoed? It couldn't be! Why would it? I gulped, a lump balling up in my throat. My home, it was defitanly gone. All gone. I had nothing. Nothing.
"Chich tor?" I jumped slightly at the sound. I couldn't help but turn to my right. Torchic stood there, his big eyes gleaming. I sniffled slightly, abling a grin.
"I'm okay," I lied. "I Just wanna get out of here." Slowly I looke dback to Chikarita and Bulbasaur, who were both looking at me. "Can you guys please help me?" Both grass types looked at each other, as if consulting. Finally, they both looked at me.
"Bulba," Bulbasaur said with a nod. I practicaly jumped to my feet.
"Really?," I practicaly exclaimed.
"Bulba!" he said again, nodding once more. "Bulba, bulbasaur!" He begantowards the pathway, heading the oppisite way of the burning St. Larwence. I gulped slightly.
"Chika!" Chikarita said. I jumped when I felt one of her vines wrap around my hand, and I couldn't help but look down. "Cik, chika!" She was smiling. I shivered slightly, but smiled back anyway. I really didn't like Pokemon touching me yet.
******
We walked for what seemed like ever. We passed many trees and broken-down things, such as wagons and stone hendges. Man, I never knew these things existed! I was so suprised at how manys things you could see while out on a journey. Maybe I should've started my Pokemon journey yesterday. If those evil people didn't attack my town for no good reason, that is. Then I wouldn't even be here right now. I sighed inwardly as I walked, Chikarita and Bulbasaur leading the way. Torchic had chosen a place next to me for some reason, though I don't know why it would. I didn't like Pokemon, couldn't he understand that? I guessed not, mainly because he wouldn't leave my side. Gosh, guess I rubbed off on him or something. I smiled dimly at the thought. Mean while, Chikarita and Bulbasaur spoke almost hush voices, maybe thinking I could understand them and their conversation was too private to be spoken aloud.
It seemed quiet as we walked along, the day passing slower than I really wanted it to. It was too quiet, even though I could still hear the two grass types ahead of me speaking quietly. I couldn't bear going on any longer, really. It bored me, too. I got tired of seeing grass lands on one side, and forest on the other. I was lucky, though, that we really didn't see any other Pokemon while he were walking. Really, there were only a few Snorlax eatting apples and some Spearow fluttering around aimlessly. Man, I'm lucky I watched my dad battle at the Gym! I sighed, tired and once more hungry.
"Bulba!" Bulbasaur frightend me, making me jump out of my thoughts instantly. "Bulba! Bulbasaur!"
"What's wrong?" I asked, hurrying up a bit to catch up with the other two, Trochic trying to keep his balance as he sped after me. Both grass types stood there, staring at something. And then I froze. Ahead of us, lying motionless under the shade of a tree, was a cat-like figure.
"Star!"

Chapter Three: Startling Discoveries
My voice was flooded with panic as I lurched forward, rushing to my mother's old Pokemon. She barely moved when I skidded next to her, obviously in a lot of pain. She had many wounded on her, but luckily, no blood. I touched her side gently as the other Pokemon caught up, Torchic tripping a little as he ran.
"Star," my voice was hoarse, my throat having a lump like it did when I saw the smoke where my town was. "Please, Star, get up."
"Per?" the Persian siad weakfully, her eyes opening up as he looked up at me. "Per-shian?"
Bulba?" Bulbasaur came up behind me, touching his vine onto my back. Bulba, bulbasaur!" I sniffled, waving my hand back and gesturing him not to touch me. Couldn't he see that Star was hurt?
"Chicka?" Chikarita came around to my side as Bulbasaur backed off. She began to stare at the Persian, probably wondering what had happend.
"Per?" Star asked, slowly trying to look up at the strange Pokemon. But I knew we didn't have time for that.
"Please," I said hoarsly, putting my arms around Star, trying to get her to her feet,"can you guys help me get her outta here?"
The Bulbasaur blinked, looking to his Chikarita companion before nodding, slowly turning and stepping forward. I almost jumped as vines came from his sides, reaching out and putting them around Star's waist. Chikarita came instantly to help, putting her wines around Star's rear end.
"Per...Sheian....," Star croacked, and I insatantly began petting her head.
"Shh.....," I could only whisper to her.
"Bulba!" Bulbasaur said almost strickly, and suprisingly, I nodded.
***
Some trainers looked oddly surpsied when we - meaning Bulbsaur and I. Chikarita and Torchic stayed outside - came walking in holding a terribly injured Persain. Some practicaly jumped up, helping me as a Chansey - at least that's what I think it was called - bring some sort of large cart out. The Nurse there - Nurse Joy? - asked me if I wanted to come in as Chansey took Star through two double doors. I could only shake my head, gloomy as I sagged my limbs, deciding not to stay in the small area with people crowded inside of it. That's how I ended up outside, against the buidling wall with my needs ticked up to my chin with my arms curled around them. It was dark out now, Bulbasaur looking around wearily at the path.
I knew they were going to leave me soon. They were wild Pokemon. Torchic sat on one side of me, blinking blankly as he watched ahead at some Pokemon lighting up the nearby feild. Chikarita had found her spot under a near-by tree, sleeping lazyily. I seriously didn't know why they had stuck with me. Normally - at least from what I've heard - even the nicest wild Pokemon won't stick around for more than a few hours or so if they're helping you. At least, that's what my dad said. He was a trainer, you know. That's how he became a gym leader. My mom was a coordinator, which is why she had Star. Mom said she raised her from a baby Mewoth because the local Day Care had given her to her. Kind've a funny story, huh?
Ahead of me, Bulbasaur paced back anf forth, obviouly annoyed having gone into civilazation with me. Though, on either side, there wasn't a house or light for miles. So I hadn't a clue why he would be upset at me or anything. I mean, what did I do wrong? I only asked for their help. Well, unless they count that as some sort of felony. Then yes, I did something wrong. But other than that, I really did nothing wrong to the Pokemon. Well, at least I think I didn't do anything wrong wrong to him. Not in my mind anyway.
"Torchic?" Torchic said quickly, jolting to it's feet. I almoast gasped as my head turned quickly towards the sliding doors of the Pokemon Centre just in time to see them open, Nurse Joy walking out with her hands clutched together infront of her. The dim light of the inside shown enough to give light to see a small smile on her face as she looked towards me.
"Your Pokemon will be fine," she only said with a small nod. "She must have really taken a beating, though. You can come in now if you like, you must be cold."
I blinked before taking one last look around, then standing to my feet. I could hear Bulbasaur give a call, though it was very quiet. I turned quickly to trudge towards the Centre, almost sure the three would leave while I was inside. Like I would want to waste their time, right? Joy gave a slight chuckle as she turned, too, leading me inside. Out of the corner of my eye, I could of sworn I saw Torchic give a sad look at me.
Maybe I should have said bood-bye.
***
When I had entered inside, a few trainers had stared at me, giving me the chills. Like I wanted anyone thinking I was a horrible or weird person for hurting a Pokemon. It wasn't really my fault, now was it? I was just glad we - Nurse Joy and me - got into the back room quickly for the staring to stop.
It wasn't too large in back, though there were a few hallways that led in different directions. Joy led me down one, my heart practicaly leaping as I was about to see my mother's Pokemon once again. And better this time, hopfully. Why wouldn't she be? This was a Pokemon Centre for cryin' out loud! They were supposed to heal Pokemon, weren't they? That was their job!......Hey, who paid them anyway? I mean, this place is practicaly free of charge, isn't? Where do they get their funds to stay in buisness? That just confuses me a lot.
"Here we are!" Joy said, trying to sound cheerful as we stopped at the end of the hallway. All I saw was a door, personally. But I nearly started jumping up and down as she leand forward and opened it, stepping out of the way for me to get inside.
The room was fairly large, a glass container about the size of my twin bed space or larger up on a white platform. Some cords or something like that were hanging down, obviously meant to be hooked to something. A bench sat to one side, a pillow on one end for anyone who needed it so they could be with their Pokemon. The floor was pure white, as well as the walls, which made it pretty bright inside. And laying neear the container was Star, her head slightly dozing off as she sat there leaning against it, almost asleep. She jumped right up, though, when she heard us enter, and was now staring at me as if she was about to wag her tail.
"Star!" I practicaly cried out, dropping to me knees and holding out my arms as she raced towards me, almost tackling me as I wrapped her in my arms. "Thank god your okay!" I said to her, almost a mumble into her ear.
"Per-shian!" she practicaly agreed with me, stepping back to look at me. She was probably just as worried as I was. Mothers are like that, even if they really aren't your mom!
"We should probably get you going," Joy's voice startled making me jump and spin my torso around to look at her. "I heard about the eurption in Sunnydale, and I take it you were apart of it," she added, making me nod in agreement.
Star gave a sad meow, remebering what had happend back there. Joy only nodded and smiled before gesturing for me to follow as she turned to go. I was quick to jump up, gesturing to Star to follow me as I raced out to follow the Nurse. Was she actualy trying to help me? Or was she just playing a sick game of some sort? I could only try and find out.
"There's a town near-by here," Nurse Joy siad once I caught up to her, walking at a quick pace just to keep up with her. "It's called New Bark Town," she continued, "where all of the trainers go to get their first Pokemon from a man named Professor Elm. He's a Pokemon Professor and scientist, if you did not know that."
Well of course I knew that! If he decided not to read further up in the begging, you wouldn't know that I've met the man before. He helped me out with Pixie, of whom I still missed. But that's not the point. The point is that I knew him already. But I didn't know what he had to do with anything. But let's let her explain some more, shall we, now?
"He'll be able to help you," she went on. "Of course, I really won't let you leave until daybreak at the least. That way you won't get attacked by night time Pokemon, and your Pokemon won't get any more injured. Tell Elm I sent you when you get there."
She had a point about Star not getting any more hurt, and that wouldn't do any good to get lost at night. But she never really said anything after that last part, so all I could really do was ponder some more until he got back to the waiting center. If that was possible, that is. But as we got nearer, my mind kept rattling about the wild Pokemon. And as we got closer, I was almost at breaking point. As we got there and she steped out of the way, I almost rushed past her to get outside. The waiting room was almost empty except for a few new people that I hadn't seen when I came in before.
"Where are you going?" Joy questioned as she paused a bit away from her desk, Star paused with probably the same confused expression on her face as well.
"Just gimme a sec," I told her almost kindly, the slidding doors opening for me when I got close enough to them. "Just please let me check something."
I stepped outside when a light breeze hit, the moon shining high above in the sky. It was literally dead silent, except for the faint howling of a pack of Mightyena or Houndour in the distance. I looked around almost sadly, seeing no grass or fire types anywhere in sight. I gave a sigh, knowing now that my hunch was right. The three Pokemon really did leave when I went inside. And I thought they really liked me, too. Not that I still trusted Pokemon I didn't know yet, but still. And I was starting to like the Torchic, too.
"Some wrong?" Nurse Joy's vpoce alerted me of her precence, and for once, I wasn't startled by it. I gave another sigh, now turning sideways to look at her to explain to her what was wrong.
"Well, you see-,"
"Chic-tor?" the high-squeakish voice made me jump and spin on my heels, Star's figure quick to lung out of the center at what I did to see what was wrong. Joy turned in suprised, too, though she didn't see my face almost light up.
"Is that a Torchic?" she questioned only as the Pokemon stumbled into the light to have a glance at her as well, looking a bit tired.
"Tor?" the Pokemon asked again, this time looking to me.
"You stayed?" I could only manage to say with a slight smile on my face. "Wow."
"Per?" Star questioned, now looking at me.
"I take it this is who you were waiting for?" Joy asked me, looking back to me with a smirk. I nodded, looking back at her again, too.
I was slightly fast when it came to explaining her everything in the least amount of time possible, telling her almost everything that had happend today, from waking up with the Pokemon suprising me up until we entered the Pokemon Centre. The whole time, both she and Star nodding. Torchic wobbled from time to time, looking tired. By the end of the story, Star was blinking at the strange little Pokemon as Joy giggled. She had also giggled at the oart where I told her I had a natural fear of Pokemon and why, though I ignored that.
"Well that is a rare case." she said when I finished, nodding slightly. "To have a young, wild Pokemon want to stay with you for so long, I mean. You aren't really an experianced trainer, I can guess."
"Yeah," I muttered, looking back to Torchic. "Hey, uh, Torchic?" I couldn't help but ask, the Pokemon slightly nodding off on it's feet.
"Chic?!" it jumped when it heard my voice, looking at me with glazed eyes.
"Where are Chicorita and Bulasaur, anyway?"
"Chic.....," it said almost sadly as it leaned over a bit, looking down the path opposite of which we came from. My head sagged a bit. Torchic seemed to have grown an attachment to me, though I bet it practicaly begged the other two if it could stay. They really didn't seem to like hanging around humans for too long.
"We'd better get you and your friends to bed," Joy said sweetly, making me smile slightly at the word "friends." "You seem to have a big day tommorrow." I nodded before stepping forward to Torchic, squatting down in front of it.
"So you really wanna stay an be my friend, huh?" I omly asked, my arms slung only my legs. The Pokemon stared at me hazily for a moment before nodding quickly. I chuckled. "Alrighty, then," I said, quick to pick it up, seeing as how it was so tired. My armms tingled a bit at the touch, though I didn't mind, turning quickly to follow Joy and Star inside.
I really don't know what's in store for me now. I mean, I have to find my parents and save them and stuff. But I really don't know how to do that. Maybe I'll get some help from my new friends. I don't know. All I hope for is that I can actualy make it through all of this and hope for the best. And to live at that. Who knows.
Maybe I could even become a hero.

Chapter Four: Are You Ready?
"All you need to do is take a left here, and then go straight on from here. When you reach a fork in the road, take a left. The right leads to some woods where wild Pokemon live, and I don't think you want to go up against them right now...."
I nodded solemly as I listened to Nurse Joy give me directions, a small Torchic in my arms. Gem stood next to me, her tail twitching. She still had a bandage on one leg, though she seemed fine either way. And on top of all that, I could have sworn I heard Torchic humming. Heh. Just another reason why I'm starting to warm up to him. Sure, from what you've read in the beggining, I've been terrified by Pokemon I didn't know pretty much my whole life. But hey, this little guy seemed to be nice. And if anything were to go wrong, I had Gem by my side to protect me.
As if she wouldn't already.
"Thank you Nurse Joy," I said sencerialy, nodding my head with a slight smile. "I'll make sure to take good care of my self." Joy just giggle, ruffling my hair a bit.
"Just make sure to come back and visit," she said, dropping her arm to her side. I smiled, and again I nodded.
"I will," I assured her before taking off running, waving back to her. "Thanks again Nurse Joy!" I called, Gem practicaly galloping right behind me. Joy waved back, saying something to me, though I couldn't quite remeber it.
"Have a safe journey," I do believe it was.
***
It was about a mile - more or less - before I actualy stopped from running, my lungs burning. I'd never really ran that far before. To make matters a little better, I'd stoped onto of a slight hill, Gem jogging up beside me as if she hadn't broken a sweat at all. What was she, a Professianl Jogger? I gave a sigh, panting as a I leaned over slightly, setting Torchic on the ground to walk while I tried to take a breath. I even carried it the whole way, too!
"Chic-tor?" the Pokemon questioned, looking around at it's surroundings. The sun had rose a little higher about the horision, probably indacating it was almost noon. I was just lucky enough that Joy had given me a free backpack with some food for both me and the Pokemon that were traveling with me. I felt so lucky at the moment, though a backpack can really weigh you down at one point or another. I never knew how heavy they could be!
"Per-shian?" Gem questioned, trying to strech her neck out to get a good look at my face. I sighed, prcacticaly slapping my legs as I stood up fully, a bead of sweat dripping off of my face.
"Yeah," I breathed longfully, "guess we should be getting ou-"
"Bulbasaur!" The sound that seemed so near-by made me jump panicaly, my eyes quick to look around. What was that?
"Torchic?" Torchic said almost sadly, taking a step forward from where it was standing towards some slightly distant bushes. I blinked, stepping forward to be next to it [though it wasn't that far].
"Something 'a matter?" I asked, blinking.
"Bulbasaur!" the nose sounded again, Max spinning to look around. Was that a Bulbasaur crying out for help?
"Per-shian!" Gem cried, literaly rushing past me. I blinked, pausing for a second before taking off after her.
"Gem!" I cried, "where are you going?!" I could hear small footsteps behind me, and some sort of cry, and almost felt sorry for making Torchic run.
