"Way to go, Psyduck!" Misty beamed at Psyduck as he actually managed to hit the Dragonite. A few seconds later, however, Dragonite was speeding toward Psyduck. Her smile faded and she was concentrating once again. "Dodge it Psyduck."
Instead of dodging the attack, the Pokemon ducked. He covered his head, as if it would keep him hidden. The Dragonite still managed to have a direct hit, however, and Psyduck soon hit the wall with quite a bit of force.
That had to do some serious damage,' Misty thought as she shifted her gaze to Psyduck. He was wobbling slightly; he was either going to have a severe headache, or he was going to faint. Misty hoped for the first. But, to her disappointment, Psyduck soon fainted due to the direct hit. "Psyduck, return!" She called out, tossing the ball to the Pokemon.
A few seconds later, she clapped and the two platforms in the pool disappeared. Grabbing her bag, she walked over to Max. "That was some battle," She commented. "You definitely earned this," She commented, as she pulled a Cascade Badge. She held it out to him, with a small smile. "This is the Cascade Badge. I'm sure it'll do you well."
She hated losing, but it was nice to be the one rewarding the trainers for all their hard work. Misty always sort of wondered what it'd be like to be the one receiving the badges, rather then giving them. That must've been a really great feeling.

"That was marvelous! You two battled with such spine!" Cal clapped his hands fiercely, getting up. "You definitely earn that badge, and you most definitely earn your place in the Gym!"
He walked from the crowd and to the arena.
"I'm sorry, I didn't even introduce myself. I am Professor Cal of the Orthan Kingdom. I own a laboratory at Litindle Town, and am frequenting a course at Kanto." He apologized, showing his ID card. "I was entrusted by Professor Oak to give these to someone worthy of them, and I think I found someone worthy enough for it!" He added, showing the Pokédexes.

He smiled dimly as he stepped forward, Flame and Nine firght behind him. Dragon had stayed on the stairs, not wanting to get the near water-way, even though it seemed covered up.
"Thank you," he said with a smile. Max jumped slightly as he turned, a man approaching them. He had forgot about him.

"You earned it," Misty nodded in response to Max. It was then that she heard another voice. Her eyes widened it slight surprise as she turned to greet the other man. She'd been so caught up in the battle that she had forgotten about him!
"Thank you," Misty beamed, recovering from the surprise. She fidgeted with a strand of her hair as she studied the Pokedexes wearily. Glancing back up to the man -Professor Cal, as she now knew him- Misty gave a small smile once more. "Orthan Kingdom? That's pretty far away," She noted. [/blockquote]

"Orthan Kingdom?" he finally asked. "I never heard of it." He spoke these words as he quickly returned Dragon back to his Pokeball, obviously ready for a long rest.

"It's normal, the Orthan Kingdom has only recently started appearing on the news. We will have the coronation of a new king someday soon, too." He responded. "Those Pokédexes are a sign of duty. I'm giving you the opportunity to fill them out and get into history."

"I'm kinda already working for someone," he said, turning back around. "Professor Elm. Every heard of him?"
"Phloshun!" Flame said.

Unknown to the three, a figure had entered the gym while the battle was going on. He entered the gym to look around and learn about it. As he had entered, he had heard a battle going and decided to check it out. Now at the top of the bleachers, he watched the battle. He then noticed that the man down there was the professor from Orthan. He walked down the stairs toward the arena, clapping his hands. "That was a very nice battle," he said in a calm voice. He gave them a kind smile.
(you don't mind if I join in with my character Demin, right?)

"Oh? Professor Elm?" Cal drifted away for a moment. "Where does he study? Maybe I'll remember that way. Or maybe..." The professor suddenly halted. "Do my eyes deceive me...?" He whispered, turning very slowly. "Are you..."

Max jumped at the clapping of hands. There wasn't another person here last time he had seen. He could hear Nine growl as the man grew closer, not wanting him to get too close to her master. Flame gave a slightly sneer, watching the man wearily.
"Um, excuse me?" Max said wearily, now looking quickly to the other person. "Who are you? And when'd you get here?"

A kind smile was displayed on his face. "It is nice to see you again, Professor Cal," he said at the reaction of the man. "What are the chances that I would see you here?" he gave a subtle laugh before turning toward the boy. "I came in during the battle. It was a nice one," he then straightened. "Please do excuse me for not introducing myself. My name is Demin Domikkin, I just happened to be passing by,"

Nine gave a short growl, while Flame only nodded to the man slightly. "So you two know each other?" Max aske dthe two men.

"My boy..." Cal slowly replied to Max. "Demin is the future king of Orthan! He is the favorite for the throne of the kingdom!" He replied with emotion, turning around quickly, the scent of books flying around as he rotated. "What are you doing in Kanto?! You should be getting ready for the elections!"

"Please please, Professor, you don't have to give it all that hype," Demin commented calmly, slightly embarrassed that it had been revealed so quickly. "The coronation is not for some time, so I am out traveling to get to know those regions that are not our own," he paused. "You know that Orthan is a very hermit like region, not really communicating with other places. I plan to change that," he smiled up at the boy and then at the girl behind him, whom he gave a nod. He looked back at Cal. "There are no elections, don't you remember, it is my birth right,"
Demin's attention turned back to the boy named Max. "You do have lovely healthy pokemon. Very good training," he commented.

Max blinked solemly as he listened to Cal's words. He didn't care much for them, though. Really, he didn't mind Kings and Queens. He only thought of them to be people like himself. Only richer and snottyer, by the sounds of it. Max kept his mouth shut, though, as he listened in quietly to their conversation. And then he smiled at Demin's comment.
"Thank you," he nodded. "My dad told me and taught me everything I know. He's a Gym Leader in Johto, where I come from."
