(OOC: So, a quick one xD. Anyone's welcome, and the plot'll reveal itself gradually.)
A fresh, salty breeze crossed the port, agitating David's clothes, creating flapping sounds, as if it were a glorious flag.
The trainer grinned and breathed in deeply. Back to Kanto, at last!
He just wished the ship left him in the Pallet river. It was such a great feeling, to be back to his homeland after being away for so long.
He knew how tired Mightyena was. He traveled just as much as David, and both traveled just as much as his parents.
Being away in Johto, he couldn't contact them using the Pokégear.
Some stupid people in Johto don't know the word "roaming".
But it was important to finally be back.
He walked off the ship and took the Pokégear from the backpack's strap. Half past six p.m..
"Perfect."
Yup, perfect. For sunset was basically one of the best sights in Vermilion.

[/a] Holly stood along the front deck of the S.S Anne as Vermillion City slowly drifted into view a few hundred feet off. It was absolutely beautiful all silhouetted in the late afternoon sunlight as it was. The Port of Exquisite Sunsets it was called – and exquisite it would be she assumed from the already beautiful lights dancing along the horizon and bouncing playfully off the waves. The waves alone of this region seemed lovely though none could ever compare to those of her home region; especially those that crashed so perfectly off the shores of Lilycove – those same waves she had grown up in…
Now, as the new region loomed before her, Holly wondered what discoveries she would make and all the things she would learn. Kanto was such a strange region to her after all. Having only traveled around Hoenn in her first journey, Holly had decided she’d go around to others and learn new things instead of repeating her journey around her home region. Three days ago she had made her decision based of off exactly this reasoning: Since the S.S Anne returned only annually to Kanto and was leaving the Slateport Harbor to return to the Kanto region there was really no better choice than to take it. That reasoning being also highly influenced by the fact that the S.S Anne was a luxury cruise ship and nothing that involved ‘luxury’ and ‘ship’ could ever deter Holly.
As the ship came into port and everyone on deck began to bustle about in preparation to get off, Holly grabbed her single pokeball and tossed it into the air. In a flash of light a beautiful little pink pokemon appeared and landed at her feet. Holly smiled at the pokemon and motioned for it to follow her as she fell into line behind the other passengers.
When she finally reached the ground, Holly made her way towards the docks and stood by the side to look at the waves. Water, no matter what region it was in, was always beautiful. Standing there in admiration, Holly waited until many of the passengers had cleared away from the ship before settling herself down and letting her feet hang over the edge above the waves below. Luvdisc quickly leapt into the water and began swimming in playful circles as the two waited quietly for the marvelous sunset that was about to begin.

Sitting down, observing the sunset from atop a bunch of stairs, David considered about what to do.
Going back to Viridian seemed the best option, but... how would he do it? Early before, he remembered how tired Mightyena was. There was no way the hyena Pokémon would carry him, and there was no way he'd force him to do such a thing.
These thoughts rushed through his mind while he took some pictures of the sun with the Pokégear, which had been conveniently modified in Johto by the manufacturer.
"I guess going on foot's the best solution right now..." He bent and patted Mightyena. "Are you okay, pal?"
Mightyena responded with a yawn and placed his head on the paws again, trying to fall asleep.
"Well that's certainly not taking us anywhere..." David replied with a face.

[/a] As she waited for the sun to set a bit lower, Holly watched her Luvdisc swim in circles below. It was excited to finally be off the ship and able to swim in the water it had traveled overtop of for so long. Three days was a long trip after all – especially for a little water type. Holly laughed as it began to splash and make small ripples that shimmered brilliantly in the orange and pink lights.
Soon the sun began to set and Holly glanced up before gasping slightly. The sunset really was gorgeous! Who knew that rays from the sun could dance in such a way and create such magnificent shapes and colors? Holly didn’t even know there were that many shades of pink and orange! “Luvdisc!” Holly whisper-called afraid of frightening away the glorious scene. “Look!”
The pink pokemon stopped making bubbles and paused long enough to look up at the sun and be captivated by the magical splendor just as its trainer. The two watched in a long, awed silence as the sun crept its way down over the horizon.

"Snap... the Pokégear's battery just died." David cursed, putting it on the backpack's strap again. "Mightyena, wake up. We've got to get to a hotel or something. If you're not moving, I can't go anywhere unless I get Pidgeot on my belt again."
The hyena Pokémon groaned and lazily got up, following his trainer.

Holly continued watching the beautiful sunset in a trance like state until suddenly she was distracted by a mild curse. Turning her head to the right, the coordinator saw a trainer nearby with an exhausted Mightyena by his feet. Holding back a small giggle as she listened to them, Holly blinked her big blue eyes and looked around noticing that most of the trainers that had come off the ship with her where gone and the crew was docking the ship for the night.
Scrambling to her feet and forgetting completely about the sunset, Holly rushed. She was new in this region and didn’t know where the PokeCenter of this town was so she figured asking before everyone disappeared … might just be a smart move.
“C’mon Luvdisc!” Holly called as she raced after the boy she had seen a few moments earlier. The rendezvous pokemon looked up in confusion as its trainer scampered away. Letting out a call of distress, the pokemon hopped up and began to follow. Holly turned and laughed. “C’mon!” she urged with a wave and moving backwards.
Holly had just turned around when she ran right smack into the very trainer she had been trying to pursue. There was a small yelp as she shut her eyes and stepped back. “I’m so sorry!” the blonde coordinator exclaimed opening her eyes again and bringing her hands to her face. The wind flapped a bit making her long blonde hair sway in the breeze as Holly stared apologetically at the boy before her. “I didn’t see you, I - … sorry.” She stuttered. At that moment Luvdisc caught up and, panting, chided her trainer lightly. Holly sweat dropped.

"Gah!" David suddenly yelled as he was thrown to the ground from the sudden clash from behind.
Do I seem like a Magnezone to pull people against me? He thought.
He didn't say anything as he got up, though, cleaning his jacket and the scarf from the harsh winter in Sinnoh. It was starting to get cold in Kanto, too.
"No problem, I'm used to it..." He slowly replied, checking for everything - Pokegear, money, etc. Seeing everything was there, he sighed in relief. "You okay there?"

“Oh!” Holly suddenly exclaimed realizing she’d knocked the poor trainer to the ground. “I’m sorry again!” she added as he stood and she clapped her hands and laced her fingers together under her chin in worry. “I’m fine,” she quickly added. “Are you?”
Holly blushed seeing as her pokemon was still chiding in a vexed manner and resisted the urge to return it. If she did that now Luvdisc would get petty later. Instead, Holly tried to ignore the hopping pokemon as she waited for the boy to say something.

"I'm okay. I'm used to get thrown to the ground." David threw a glare at Mightyena, but the Pokémon probably didn't notice. "I saw you were also viewing the sunset from the port. Did you come in that ship?"
David pointed at the big cruiser being transported.
Tick tack tick tack... Pokécenter close in two hours, David. His mind told him.

Holly watched as the boy gave his Mightyena a glare and giggled softly but tried to cover it with a gentle hand before nodding. “Yeah, I’m new to this region so I decided, since this town is famous for its sunsets, that I would stay and watch.” She shrugged. “Good timing I guess.”
The wind blew again and the scent of salt water floated around in the warm breezes ruffling Holly’s hair. She absolutely loved the warmth of the late sunset and early evening especially on the water. It was such a pleasant feeling. Holly wondered if it would soon begin to get cold though. If it did, she would need to buy a coat of some sort or change her wardrobe completely from the mini-dress she usually wore. The boy continued speaking distracting her from her thoughts and Holly nodded again.
“Yes, actually we did. Three days on the water and not allowed to swim in it. Horrid!” she laughed. “But you probably were on there too.” She continued. “So you know.”
Holly smiled again encouragingly to the boy and tried to figure him out. Usually when she met someone, boy orgirl, Holly could tell their general personality but this one…not so much. He seemed curt yet polite and at times sarcastic. What was beneath all that, she wondered.

"Eheh, yeah. Well, I better get going. Viridian is next in my map and the PokéCenter closes in about an hour or so." David replied, turning around.
However, he suddenly stopped, turning around again.
"Hum, by the way, I missed your name." He offered a hand to shake. "David Lawride."

Holly blinked as she was asked then opened her mouth intending to reply but nothing came out. She had completely blanked on her name! Fumbling for something else to say, she quickly blurted “Mistletoe!” Then, seeing how ridiculously suggestive that sounded, Holly blushed and tried to fix her mistake.
“It’s what makes mistletoe….a plant…green and red…” she stuttered still blank. Ah! What is it? Green and red, makes wreaths….something….? Help! She thought wildly. “Um….I’ll shut up now.” She said then actually out loud. With a sweat drop, Holly scooped up Luvdisc, who was looking at her like she was an idiot, and quickly brushed past the other trainer.
This was ridiculous! How could she forget her own name? Really?! Holly kept her feet going straight ahead to who knows where and squeezed Luvdisc tightly to her chest. The pokemon looked up at her sympathetically but Holly didn’t return its gaze. She could only look at the ground and blush until the point where a rose couldn’t have done a better job turning this hue of red.
Holly! That’s my name! she suddenly remembered. Great timing too; he thinks you’re an idiot. she thought sarcastically. Oh whatever, it’s only one trainer. There have to be more in this region right? Not any nearly as cute though…. Holly suddenly stopped in her tracks as if frozen. Looking at Luvdisc, her mouth popped open and she gazed wide-eyed at the poor, confused pokemon.
“Oh, how could my new journey start out with a crush this early!” she whined out loud.

David's hand seemed to have frosted for a moment.
...Crush...? Smooth move, Lawride. The idea crossed his head like a spear. It's gotta be something related to that Luvdisc. He quickly thought, trying to get an excuse for it.
"Hum... right..." He curled his hand in hesitation. "I kind of, hum, have to go. I-a-hum-mean-erm..."
Cough and smile. He thought right after. Cough and smile
David coughed lightly and forced a smile to hide a mix of surprise, scare and total confusion.
"I gotta go!" As David turned around, Mightyena's head turned up at his trainer's face; red like he Pokémon's eyes.
A slight move of David's hand, beaconing Mightyena, was enough to get the Pokémon up on all fours.
Nice. You're blushing. Congratulations, you just threw your chance down the hole.

As Holly continued walking down the path to nowhere, she suddenly stopped and came to her senses. Where is the PokeCenter? She wondered. Looking up from her embarrassment, cheeks still slightly pink, the blonde looked around. The sky was getting darker by the second and less people seemed to be around than before. Holly scanned the buildings within sight and again wondered what to do.
“I shouldn’t have been so stupid and just asked that trainer where the center was…” she muttered to herself regretting her actions. Luvdisc though, being less love-stuck and confused, looked around and hopped out of Holly’s arms. The coordinator became distracted as she turned and saw her pokemon beckon for her to follow it. Cocking her head to the side, Holly shrugged and followed her pokemon in curiosity.
Luvdisc began hopping down the street with its trainer close behind. It seemed to know where it was going in Holly’s opinion. Or that might have just been a vain hope. Either way, the two began to pass buildings and multiple shops all of which, in the dark, did not appeal to Holly’s taste. Perhaps in the morning they would be more to her liking.
Soon a sign came into view over the tops of the other buildings and Holly stopped. She quickly rummaged in her tote bag for some sort of pamphlet and flipped through it. “There!” she exclaimed pointing at a picture. “That’s the PokeCenter sign! Oh, you’re a genius Luvdisc!” she exclaimed scooping up the little pokemon and hugging it tightly. “C’mon!”
Holly quickly stuffed the pamphlet back in her bag and raced towards the symbol ahead with Luvdisc in her arms.

David gave a deep sigh. He managed to escape a somewhat tough situation.
But come on!
You've been in much harder situations, David. What gives? You're blushing? You've faced Ardos himself and just now you're blushing?
These thoughts dissipated when the computer finally logged on. The Internet was really slow. And how come Vermilion, such an active port, didn't have a fast network?
David quietly inserted his card and the password, scrolling through his Boxes.
He found Pidgeot in the second box. The first was nearly empty, and the second was just about as empty.
Withdrawing Pidgeot, he put the ball on the belt, logging out.
"Excuse me, can I have something to drink?" He called to the lady in the counter.
She nodded and walked away.
David sat down on one of the benches and relaxed. Just a few more hours and he'd be in his house in Viridian, away from everyone...
Mightyena sat right by him, trying to get some sleep.
